Well this post is 2 weeks late, but better late than never! Mercedes Marathon weekend was beautiful. Weather was amazing. The kids ran their one mile fun run race. Claire finished in 7:57 and Ellie finished in 8:08. Ellie actually was the first Kindergarten girl to cross the finish line. Rob and I ran with my school relay team on Sunday and had a blast. I was scheduled to run 15 miles that day for my training for Boston, so I ran the first leg of the relay for my team and then I was able to run with some great friends through some more of the course.
We had a blast. Great memories. Great exercise. Great tradition for our family.
The Pate crew is doing well. Claire's softball is in full swing, Ellie Bug moved up to level 3 gymnastics (which means more hours of training in the week for her), and Mommy is 6 weeks out from the BOSTON MARATHON...Ahhhhhh....so we are busy with school, ball, gymnastics, and running most evenings. Daddy just bought a new car. Claire thinks it will be hers in 7 years..HAHA...that totally freaks me out. Jenna is such a princess...asks us daily to remind her how beautiful she is (I remind her that God is interested in how beautiful her HEART is, not her HAIR!)...and the boys are just absolutely hilarious. They are talking so much now. It is such a blessing to hear their precious conversations. This morning James said, "I go Joan's Mommy." and I responded, "No buddy, we aren't going to school today, it is Saturday." He smiled really big and said, "I go Y" (meaning the YMCA) and I said, "No buddy we aren't going to the Y today." So he paused for a minute and then said, "Oh, I go turch Mommy!" (meaning church)....I just laughed at him and squeezed him tight.
I have some new video I need to post for everyone, I'm just lazy and have not found the time.
