OH Happy Boys!

This morning, I awoke to sunshine and two precious smiling boys. Both boys have smiled several times over the past two weeks but this morning, it was the "I know you are my mommy smile" when I initially picked them up out of their crib. They were so happy and smiling this morning. I really enjoyed nursing them and snuggling with both of them before beginning our day.

Bath time tonight was also a happy experience. I have probably only given them about 6 baths since they have been home. I literally have only given them one a week because they scream so badly during the bath. They turn purple and I get stressed! However, tonight was different. James actually seemed relaxed in my bathroom sink taking his bath. John David flipped around like a fish but NO SCREAMING! Yay!

A few comments from Ellie and Jenna this week;

Ellie: as she was rocking one of the boys in his car seat and didn't realize I was listening from the kitchen; "Calm down little man, that's enough!" (wonder where she came up with those lines???)
Jenna: playing with her Rainbow Bright doll last night, "Mommy my give my baby her breastfeed"
Ellie: "Mommy, John David is screaming AGAIN!"
Jenna: trying to force a paci in James' mouth as I was preparing supper and trying to console the boys during their fussy time; "Open you mouth James, suck it!"

My children entertain me on a daily basis. I should have taken a picture of my living room tonight as I allowed Ellie and Jenna to completely wreck it while I was tending to boys crying and feeding and burping simultaneously helping Claire with her school book project....(sigh)! It was a complete disaster. I even found "stuff" I hadn't seen in a long while and thought, "where in the world did that come from" And of course the best part of it all is when I demand that they "clean it all up" and I find EVERYTHING shoved under the kitchen table or in the laundry room! UH!!!

Boys are approaching 4 months (wow, I can't believe it has been that long since the day of their birth), they appear to be typical 6 week old babies right now. We will see Dr. Darby next week for shots and check up. Hoping they are growing well and thriving as best as expected. Thank you for remembering to still pray for their health and development.

I have been nursing the boys together at the same time (much faster) however, for some crazy reason, they do really well all day but at night, James has refused to nurse along side of John David. It is hysterical. Last night, Rob and I watched him vigorously want to nurse but as soon as his head touched John David's, he'd pitch a fit screaming hysterically. When I'd take John David off and try James solo, he'd latch perfectly. As soon as I put John David back on, James stopped nursing and started screaming again. Apparently, James doesn't want to share mommy at night. Poor John David got the boot last night from brother!...He did the same thing tonight as well.

Here is a video I took of Jenna while she was breastfeeding her baby. She didn't know I was watching her. The video is hard to see, sorry it is so dark, but if you look closely, you'll see the Boppy pillow in her lap. She actually went to my room to find it and drug it into the living room to sit down and nurse her baby. That tells you how observant a two year old can be. She knew to get the Boppy to feed her baby....hahaha, to funny!
